Do You Know Enough About Makeup?

1

This Season’s Color
There are a few different schools of thought on the colors from one season to the next. On one hand, it can be nice to know that there is something new out there to try. On the other hand, an awful lot of women don’t like being told what to wear on their face by anyone, especially by a magazine guru…and what is that color isn’t something that is attractive on you?
Instead of depending on that color, you may want to consider introducing it in small amounts. A dash of that color, subtly applied to your eyelids or appearing on your cheekbones, could be a fun way to add change to your daily makeup routine without making a commitment to a color that you might not even like very much. You’ll be modern, but still maintain your own look.

Do You Think You Can’t Wear Makeup Due to Sensitive Skin?
There is no doubt that sensitive skin can make wearing makeup more challenging, but over the past few years, manufacturers have really started to meet the needs of women with sensitive skin. There are a few things that you should look for on any makeup you buy, and frequently, these will help prevent an allergic reaction. Some of the most important are:

  • Hypoallergenic
  • Non-comedogenic
  • Fragrance-free
  • Dye-Free
  • Recommended by Dermatologists
  • For sensitive skin

Many women are not allergic to makeup, they are allergic to the dyes, perfumes and other additives that go into makeup. Therefore, you need to find makeup that is as pure as possible, because really, do you need a perfume in makeup? Have you ever seen someone and wondered what their foundation or blush smelled like? Very few people really have, so you probably do not really need it.

An interesting fact that may help you make your final decision is that many stores will allow you to return makeup, even when it’s been opened, if you are not happy with it. Obviously, it would be very challenging to be happy with a product that gave you a rash, hives, made you itch uncontrollably or that caused your skin to discolor, all of which are known allergic reactions to certain makeups. If you find out what the return policy is at the stores where you shop for makeup and make sure you follow it, you will never have to worry about losing money on makeup ever again.

Choosing to wear makeup is a very personal decision and one that can change many times throughout your lifetime. Makeup can also be a very freeing experience and one way to change your appearance without any permanent changes, so make sure that if you choose to wear makeup, that you enjoy it.
